New Set up for LRGB.....

Hi all,

I've finally bitten the bullet and forked out for a Moravian G2-8300. This kills two birds with one stone hopefully. I can now try LRGB imaging and also I now have enough equipment to image deep space and widefield together:

On the left is the C11 with the new Moravian camera. On the right is the C8 with hyperstar and QHY8L. My shed now contains two old Dell desktops to control both set ups.

My plan is to make a portable pier over the summer so I can cut a trap door in the decking for the second set up and not lose use of the decking (wife's instructions!)

This will make better use of the clear nights we have.

Just need some clear nights now before the summer really sets in......

Any suggestions welcomed.

Hi Dave, that's an impressive setup you have there, I thought I was seeing double, or looking at two pics at first 😀...

Do you do much visual observing?

You have some great options available to you now.

I agree with you that summer is starting to set in... I hope you get a few nights in first, ðŸ‘

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the feedback. No, I don't do much visual and I seem to spend most of my time trying to get my DSO pictures better. That has stopped me using the hyperstar attachment which actually allows you to take pictures of several objects in an evening. Hopefully I'll be able to increase my output with two scopes in use.....

i`d very much like to see the results of the hyperstar setup, should be very fast for imaging.

Check out my M42 in astrobin that I did recently.  I'm really pleased with that.

The hyperstar is really a giant light bucket and great for widefields.
