Shipley park solar open days.

Recommended Posts

Saturday June 6th marks the start to our traditional Summer Open Day and Display at the Shipley Park Visitor Centre.

We hope to have a selection of member’s telescopes on show, a gallery of drawings and photographs, along with several automated powerpoint presentations going on throughout the day. We also hope to do some solar observing in the Centre’s Courtyard – though this is weather permitting.

We will repeat this again on Saturday the 27th with our display boards left on display all month.

Everyone welcome along.

Just a quick bump for this event.

Well be setting up from 10 am and will be around till about 4pm.

Hoping for some clear skies and lots of sun spots.

Thinking I might even have a go for Venus and Jupiter if they're far away enough from the sun.

Another great day showing the user's of Shipley park our nearest star in white light and Ha. Also some great views of Venus, and some not so great views of Jupiter. First time finding them in the day for myself. Amazed how many people thought it was the moon.

Thanks to all who attended and helped out, same again on the 27th.

Just a quick bump for the second of our visits to Shipley park. We will hopefully be showing visitors to the park our nearest star and maybe a planet or two.

We will be setting up from 10 am in the visitor centre courtyard.

As ever everyone is welcome along.

Another fairly busy day today, lots of interest in the sun and venus. And lots of brownies running around!

That's it for shipley park solar days this year, but one last chance next week at kirk hallam lakeside festival.

Thanks again to Steve for bringing his Ha rig along.
