The close intimacy of a pair of binoculars !

This follows on from a suggestion I made on another forum......

For those whose wives/children also have an interest in studying the skies try both using one pair of bins together, each one just using just a single eyepiece with your heads side by side.  Open out the bins to max eye distance of course.

Used in this way it removes the difficulty one seeing something in the bins  then the other person using them and trying to find the same sky object by description from the other......

......" It's just over the top of that left hand chimney" etc etc

"Surely you can see that!" "Up there, more to the left.! :)

Also for married couples and those courting (do people still  go courting these days?)

it will give your shared interest in astronomy a new intimate and luvvy duvvy approach as you struggle to keep your heads very close together.

...or 15 inches, as in my case...

Mind you, we are the same height lying down. Not sure what reaction I'd get asking her to lay down on the lawn in the dark and share a pair of binoculars, though...

Why not try it ? you never know what it might lead to.  :kisses:   :)

Possibly. Just don't want to frighten the animals!

I would think that you would have bigger problems than using bins together.
