By 1 second - its a leap time http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-33313347

This got me thinking when using Astro software how much in terms of FOV measurements/positioning errors is effected by being only a second(or secs ) out?

And with what do you sync time with - Rugby , Internet ?

This could be that last time this happens as delegates of the World Radio communication Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland are meeting some time this year in regards to abolishing leap seconds.

I will try to stick to using wide angle eyepieces, so I don't have to worry too much about the FOV :)

I'm just concerned whether I will lose or gain sleep over it tonight :) :)

You know when people say " I am having forty winks" well tonight you can have forty one - enjoy. ;)

"One second out in RA is only 15 seconds in degrees." :chin_scratch2:   Thanks Richard

As I have said on my sig..........

"A clock threw seconds at me which I lazily dropped and they fell onto the past,

lost forever."

Never waste a single second of your short life.  Well, relatively short compared with what we look at. :)
