Luna Eclipse bit by bit.

I hope to do a step by step pictorial of tonight's Luna Eclipse.

Clouds willing that is.

The quality will be pretty poor as I am using my old Fuji Finepix.

These are huge pictures so click on an image for full resolution.

8.30 pm.

First up is the rising from behind my hedge.

.

Well true to form of our weather the clouds came back and I lost it all until 3.30 am

I managed to grab 35 subs through a brief gap in the clouds of the total eclipse.

GT81

Canon 350 D

35 subs at 1/2 a second exposure at ISO 100

Stacked in Registax

Quick polish in PS 6

At least I did get to see this brilliant event even though it was for the briefest moment.

I will add more as the night progresses.

Change of game plan.

Just changed cameras in the obs.

Now have the Canon 350 D taking a picture every 10 mins for the entire duration.

Will post up at the end

Stayed clear all night here... got a few pics but started quite late and was well underway. So I didn't get a full sequence. Also missed the easier focusing when it was brighter earlier on. Doh!

Best bit was looking at it through bins as it gradually changed. Had a real sensation of it hanging there in space with the background stars. Beautiful! Only if that could be captured photographically.
