My New Setup...all set up!

So just thought I would share some pictures of my 200P mounted on the NEQ6 Pro with all my new dew kit attached and the cooling fan behind the primary. The little black box with the red plug goes to the Secondary heater that Martyn manufactured for me. I just wanted to set it up at home so I could tidy the wires up with some cable tidies so I would know what to do out in the field next time we have a meet. ynu3yber.jpg

Very nice.

Very tidy cables. That'll make it much easier setting up.

Can I ask, what are the black tape X's for?

Ha ha! Hey Tobias-the black tape 'X' on either side cover the bolt holes as it is a 200P OTA that was originally on a Dob base that I have put on an EQ mount :)

Thanks guys. I am with you Mick, when I first set it all up the cables were all over the place and I couldn't be doing with it so I got hold of the cable tidies off the bay and set to making it as neat as I could but with enough flex/slack so that I can still rotate the OTA if the EP ends up in a funny position after slewing :)

Nice one Felix.

I`m just in the middle of sorting my cables out - EMS1 proved to me they were to dangerous to be left loose.

Thanks guys :) like I said above I set it all up and didn't like the way the cables were all over the place and presented trip hazards and wanted to make setup time a bit more efficient. So I have packed the cables away all cable tied together. Then once they are on it is just polar alignment I have to conquer ;)

Next time you're in Maplins (yes that second home we all live in at the weekends lol) check out the flexible cable tidy's. Saves all the pain of cable ties every time you go out with the gear - zips them all together in one swift motion and only a single cable tie to hold in place at the mount. :)

I have one Kim ( from maplins :) ) and tried it but preferred the Velcro cable ties personally as they're not as heavy and don't pull on the dew control hub as much.

Thanks Crifter :) I have only been doing this just over a year now so I am still very amateur. I would not have the setup that I have now had it not been for the advice and guidance of all the awesome members of EMS. The members here are just so brilliant in their attitude towards all that show an interest in this great hobby.

It does go to show though the slippery slope of spending in astronomy ;) Constantly I am finding things that I simply "need" to buy lol!
