If anyone is interested in trying to see the flyby for Asteroid 2012 DA14, chart below. Assuming the cloud gods are not active!.

Very early days yet but some weather sites are giving cloud free Friday night for Hucknall, fingers crossed!!!

Here is a table from Heavens Above for the asteroid fly by from Mansfield.


I'm sure it won't be far off for anyone else in EMS. If you login to Heavens Above you can get the exact info for your location.


You may notice that it is brightest as it rises above the horizon very low down in the north and dimishes as it gets higher.


 


This map is pretty much the same as Damians above...

The asteroid will be about 8th mag when it rises at about 8pm, fading through 10th mag at 10pm, 12th mag by 1am.

The scope's had about 4 hours cooling outside under the clouds, but I'm bringing it in now, and the beer is coming out. :)


No Asteroid. :(
