With moon just past full I didn't have a massive amount of choice tonight, so I grabbed an hours worth of Markarian's Chain in Luminance and used my old RGB data, the old data was pretty bad compared to this new stuff so I didn't use any of it for the Luminance just the fresh stuff.....and then the moon came up and I thought I would grab some of M13, but I had guide star issues, so I've only got two frames one in red the other in Blue, so I've combine the two for a mono shot....the resolutions not bad the seeing got loads better as the night went on.
I've cropped in to show the full res.

cheers
Peter

I love makarians chain. Great picture Peter. Is makarians chain visible in an 8 inch Newtonian do you know? I've only ever seen pictures of it-actually I don't know where it is in the sky!

Many thanks ........Markarian's is a beautiful visual object, I have seen it through an 8 in Newt, its in Virgo when you see it in the eyepiece there is no mistaking it

Brilliant, thanks Peter. Really wish I had got the scope out last night but only noticed it was clear at about midnight and was just too tired!

I agree, the second crop is better, bringing the barred spiral at the bottom out more.

Wow - great pictures.

Nothing like the faint smudges I've just observed and crossed off my Messier list!
