hi all, bit confussed as normal about the the atik artemis software, namely in the colour button at the top of the toolbar, i`m using a mono atik titan with lrgb filters so should i be clicking the automatic tab or clicking on the advanced and choosing one of the other options, i.e. Raw, Colour, Luminance ? no idea what the bayer offsets is for. i`m guessing Raw but am unsure.

also when i am using the luminance filter should i be changing the setting and clicking on the luminance tab ?

thanks for the help

that would make sense L.O.L.

but would i still need to click raw or are mono cameras just raw images anyway

These have no effect on the saved image they purely change what you see on screen.

There is a downloadable manual for Artemis capture.

The saved image will always be a raw image which needs full processing.

i see the Atik have just upgraded the artemis software, all i can really see in the difference is it installed a new driver and it has a histogram display that comes up in the software, tried it out the other night doing 7 minute luminance exposures on M101 but the histogram was still only about a third of the way across, should i go for even longer exposures to get the histogram 2/3 rds of the way over to the right ?

i`m using a Atik Titan mono ccd

Ultimately the length of exposure depends a lot on your levels of light pollution.

I wouldn't worry too much my histogram tends to be over to the left most of the time.

M101 is a dim little sucker.
