Being new to astrophotography and not very good at processing
I went on the hunt for some noise reduction software.

I came upon this little gem         http://www.photo-freeware.net/noiseware.php

I wasn't to hopeful as its FREE!!!

Now I'm no expert but this thing seems to perform magic.

I use default settings but there are  many different settings to adjust .

Is this any good or ,,,,,,am I just poor at processing and looking for a quick noise fix.

PS I've had a look at the authors site and the pro version retails for $80 .

Thanks for that link Gary.

I tried it on a single exposure of stars only,  taken on a Canon 450d at 1600 ISA which showed noise.

This app near completely removed the noise and as far as i could tell left the stars unmolested. :)

Maybe someone will run it on galaxies etc.

As you said Gary, magic.
