Just stopped pouring here! 100% cloud cover. When I used to live in Leicester used to commute to Reading & Bracknell...4.45am up,the only time it was light in the morning was late part of spring and up  to mid sept. Didn't get any obsy sessions in for nearly 10yrs :facepalm2:

I'm wondering just WHEN I can do some deep sky imaging. I'm getting a bit of solar and lunar but the only clear nights are during the week when I have to get up for work the next day. As I'm pushing 60, the nights I can teach a class on 4 hours sleep are long gone. I know that M5 and M13 are just sitting behind the clouds shouting "you can't see or photograph me".

Oh how well I know that feeling!

I'm on holiday, clear sky last night, no need to get up, had the Astrotrac all set and ready to go. By the time it was dark the effects of fresh air, relaxation, Spanish brandy & a dash of 'getting older' all combined to make bed seem like the preferred option (after another brandy)! :-D

Hazy tonight (so good for the brandy) but should be clear tomorrow.

Moonlight was all over the place on Friday (well at least I did a lot of lunar imaging) and 100% cloud cover last night. Should brighten up for a bit of solar viewing later today but moonrise will be after my bedtime.

59 soon and agree it's hard to generate the motivation for a late session. I try to remember the fact that I've never regretted dragging myself out for a late session and I've never fallen asleep at the eyepiece! An observing buddy is a help since you commit earlier in the day and then can't back out! Once you get out there with a like mind time flies and before you know it dawn is starting to break (at this time of year) but agreed, only at the weekend when you can sleep in next morning.

I had a nice night snapping Cygnus, Cepheus with Cassiopeia and Albireo but here I am posting on forums, hoping that the cloud will clear!
