Selling Up :( - ALL SOLD

Hey guys, as some already know I am selling up all my gear to persue more advnced skydive training. Im not happy about it, but something had to give out of my two expensive hobbies unfortunately.

Anyway I have posted all the stuff for sale on ABS and pasted the link below as there is so much to list so it is easier to do it all in one place. As it states on ABS I am willing to separate some things  but not others. Ideally I'd love to sell it all in one go s I can get straight on with my training before I head to spain to do a number of jumps with a coach out there.

Any questions you can pm me on here or via the ABS message system.

That's a shame Felix, hope you'll still stay around. Good luck with furthering your other hobby.

Sorry to hear that, Felix. It's not to fund Kevlar armour for the jumpsuit, is it?  ;)

At least the binos and tripod aren't on that list so all is not lost!

You can always take it up again when you are old and grey   :D  - enjoy and be safe .

Thanks Clive-that's my plan I think. When I am crooked and broken from all the free falling I will pick it back up. Who knows by then the technology may have advanced even more and we will laugh about how we all used to use those "old DSLR cameras" :)

It is a shame, but I know what you mean, is there an upper age limit for skydiving? There isn't for astro ;-)

No upper age limit but once you reach 50 you have to have a medical and get signed off as fit to jump.

I suppose, if you have to sell your astro gear to persue something else, then flying through the atmosphere as you propose has got to be one heck of an exhilarating reason to do it.

Good luck Felix :) .

The Tech will beyond your imagination by then Filex. Keep sending us you videos and pictures of your jumps - at least the rest of us can then dream on - What is the point of a medical after 50 just sign on the dotted line where it says "don't care" - too much "don't do this ,can't do this" without some bit of paper.

Sorry to hear that Felix but then I did something similar many years ago as other things took priority. Theres always time to take up astro again in your old age and dotage, I did it :D

Glad your keeping the Monks though

Just a quick update-some stuff has sold but my heavily modified 200P is still available. I have decided it is possible to separate the moonlite motor focuser from the moonlite CR2 Dual speed focuser. So if you want the scope with the the motor focuser it will be £380 collected and if you want the motor focuser itself that's going for £125 posted or £120 collected. Lots of other bits including primary mirror cooling fan for 8 inch Newtonian (£45 posted) still available :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Sorry to here you are no longer star gazing. Big thanks for all your advice. Hopefully you will still make a few meets. All the best.

Agree with Doug, best of luck with the skydiving mate. Done some jumps myself many moons ago (but I was getting paid for it at the time!) with 23 PFA (Para Field Ambulance). Take care and hope to meet again some time!  :)

Cheers

Ron

Thanks guys, as I say I will still be using bins and will be back to stargazing (and planetary imaging) later on when I have achieved what I would like to in skydiving, Freeflying and WIngsuiting to be specific :)
