Set up the scope in daylight, and let it cool while tea was scoffed.

The site is overlooked by some really tall trees, but has half decent east and southern views.

Started with the old favourites, M31,13, 27, the double cluster, and managed to get Neptune, Unfortunately Uranus was stuck behind a hedge.

Had a squint around the Cygnus and Cassiopeia star fields, and the Milky Way, including the Cygnus rift being clearly visible.

All of this from My son's back garden, he is very lucky to have skies this good.

The new diagonal really seems to make the image a lot brighter, but then that could be me being biased.

Had a great view of the Double Cluster in the 38mm Panaview, just stunning.

A good sprinkling of sporadic meteors added to the spectacle.

All in all the captive audience were happy.

Nice report Martyn, I have never been able to spot Uranus, never thought of looking behind a hedge for it.

:)
