My mount won't work -- Cannot think why

Thought this might tickle a few peoples ribs.

A customer sent me his mount because it was not working as it should. :chin_scratch2:

After removing the Dec dial I was confronted by this.

OK it looks like plenty of grease has been used to rebuild this mount in the past :)

It was the smell that gave the game away. :yucky:

The problem is that this is not grease it is Silicone sealant.  :o:facepalm::screwloose:

I for one cannot begin to imagine the scenario that led to this happening.

It continued throughout the entire mount on both Axis.

I have had one hell of a time trying and succeeding I might add to clean it all off.

The mount is now back to its full working state.

I on the other hand may never recover from the shock or the fits of laughter I just could not contain.

At least it won't have any issues if you should want to use it in the rain.......

  you could have used it under water Mike

Was the owner short sighted and thought he was using silicon grease I wonder

Thats certainly one for the records Graham

No idea Phil

He He. Certainly shower proofed it then.

I'll bet he's chuffed it's back in working order, nice one Graham.

I have yet to hear from him.

unbelievable, did the mount move at all ?

Only just but it was a bit tight

Lucky its working at all isn't he - brilliant

Just a bit good job it is the non setting kind

That's a first!! Wonder you could get it all off Graham!! :o
