HitecAstro Four Channel PWM Dew Controller with 2 x power outputs

Anyone using one of these and one of it's power outputs to run their mount? Seems like a compact way to only have one power supply running to the mount and dew heater bands?

Thoughts

Thanks

i use one for powering my 3 dew bands and for powering my Atik 314, mounts use very little power when tracking so should work fine, i believe these units can give out 4 amps max at each port which is over double the max your mount will need even when slewing at the fastest speed.

Thank you gents... decided to order one and a few dew bands. Hope to find a lead before the weekend so that I can power my mount from it as well.

Do you or anyone have a picture of the plug that would fit the "2.1mm 12 volt regulated outputs, suitable for most Celestron/Skywatcher mounts" (Probably a silly question - picture not required... ?!) Is this just the same shape as the one that plugs into the mount anyway?

Out of interest would I be right in assuming the 12 volt regulated output from the hitecastro controller is centre positive? i.e. is the lead just straight through... I ask as I may have to make up the lead or buy it before the controller arrives.

Probably pop down to Potts in derby b4 the weekend!

Thanks

It's a Phono plug you need and yes it is centre positive.

You may have to make your'e own lead up, I did. :)

Cheers

Ron. I think Steve has the same as mine which has 2 DC outputs on the side as well as the 4 phono ports. I'm thinking of using my DC outputs for fan and a dimmer for setting circle led.

Thanks Andy. That is right. I am asking about the two dc outputs on the side. Plug type?

Mine is a Kendrick Digifire unit, 4 dew controllers and 2x12v out with phono sockets  :)

All sorted. Thank you very much for the input.

Have the hitecastro 4 band controller. A few Dew heater bands and made up a short lead to run the heq5 off the regulated 12v dc output.

Tested separately but all put together for the first time at EMS3 and worked great.

No dew throughout the first damp night and mount running nicely.

Best wishes.

Steve
