Has anyone used these under say, a scope/camera cover to prevent condensation?

Can be reused time and time again by popping it into microwave oven for 5 minutes.

I think that would be ideal Richard.

The eggs I've seen are ok for small rooms and turn from blue to pink when they have done their job and are ready for the microwave. So in your small enclosure it should do a fine job.

Yes that's what is for, Pete.  The small enclosure.

Only 4 1/2 quid on eBay so worth a go perhaps.

BTW, If a dehumidifying egg hatches out does it produce one of

Charles Kingsley's, water babies? :D

I've seen some reliable Internet reports saying that camera-eating dragons have hatched out of those eggs!

I think the eggs are full of silica gel dessicant beads and are really just the same as the beads you get in a tyvek (breathable) paper sachet.

The egg container can be a more convenient way to contain the beads and usually contains more beads than a sachet.
