Hi folks. I've been contacted by a teacher from a school in Sleaford lincolnshire. There are looking for an expert to come to the school one evening week commencing 16th March to talk to some interested kids about astronomy. They are hoping to have some telescopes set up. Would anyone be interested in helping? I'm no expert im still trying to figure out my own scope! Lol Cheers kiara xx

Yes, Ron Clarke.

Might be worth looking at ELAC on Facebook as well for other 'locals'!

Cheers

I would volunteer but I live too far away. I've done this sort of thing before and kids are really fascinated by it. On the whole, they are not interested in 8th and 9th mag galaxies that appear as a fuzzy patch but show them the Moon, Saturn's rings and some of the bright deep sky objects like M45, M42, etc. I would include M31 but it is poorly placed this time of year. If you have tripod mounted binoculars, they will like the Hyades.
