If you are using cheap eye pieces and the clarity of the objects is suspect ( objects are slightly elongated  ) is the and value in rotating them in the focuser to see if the image improves ?

I suspect rotating would have no benefit. I'd be tempted to check collimation though.

I agree, I do not see how rotating an EP would have any benefit. Are all your EP's doing this or just one and what object were you looking at when you noticed this?
