    Back in the saddle again

Sorry to hear about your health issues. As from the middle of next week, I have been unable to stay outside for long. I have never done an all-nighter and need to be in bed early if I need to get up early the next day. The only reason I've been up late more frequently is because I'm laid off from work.

Retiring from forum life. My last post.

I saw this thread and wanted to chip in after a long time away. Please stick with EMS Graham. It is a sad state that people have taken advantage and then dissappeared, and I can completely understand that this situation has got you down. As someone who has probably had more stuff designed, built or modified expertly by you than anyone, I am extremely grateful that you have been part of EMS and so willing to help out, advise and inspire with your posts. I'm very sad to be reading your latest post, but know that you are brilliant at finding ingenious solutions to all manner of problems, so I'm hoping that you can find a different solution to this one that doesn't involve stopping your valued contributions to EMS. Best regards to you and everyone at EMS. Pete.

  17. Over the past few years health issues meant my astro (as well as many other things) suffered, I didn't have the stamina for all nighter imaging sessions like I used to be able to cope with, plus increased light pollution (where I lived up till february) just made me angry when I tried astro from my garden. Thus I did less and less astro, imaging and visual. Then after a lot of hard work my health started to improve but I still avoided astro (apart from the odd foray to dark sites and Kelling) due to the light pollution and @rsoles of new neighbours who didn't possess curtains and left lights on all night and turned their gardens into fairy grottos🀬. Then in February we finally moved to a more rural location, since then I have been out with a scope or binos over 20 times. OK my health still prevents all nighter sessions,( I still suffer if I stay up past 00:00 hours) thus summer astro is a bit restricted, to moon and planets but I am out there again. Our new gaff has no direct LP just a bit of sky glow from Uttoxeter, Stone and Stoke which are a civilised distance away. Its good to be back observing and occasionally imaging. Health, current circumstances etc permitting I hope to do more. Here is a shot from the other night when prepping for imaging and observing the moon from my new gaff showing why I consider myself to be one lucky begger πŸ™‚

Very nice Matt. I've never been one for viewing the moon often but all these brilliant moon images that are being posted are beginning to make me think I need to stop overlooking our nearest neighbour.
