Steve, the sun dogs themselves lasted approx three quarters of an hour with varying degrees of brightness, however the complete halo was only around for a few minutes. I was driving the car when the OH first noticed "those sun things" but we were about 5 minutes from our destination. By the time I had pulled in and grabbed the camera the full halo had started to form. Finding a decent spot to image from so that I could get the whole halo and both dogs was a bit of a mission. I have seen two full halos before at Gibraltar point, obviously earlier in the day when the sun was higher in the sky, the conditions have to be correct of course, hazy and sunny...
