A12335 Sketch

Doc

Recommended Posts

Here's my humble attempt at a sunspot sketch.

It was my first proper look through my new solar set up, my Esprit 120ED and a Baader Herschel Wedge.

Eyepieces used were the 16mm and 7mm Uwan and I did try the 4mm Uwan but the magnification was too much.

The sunspot is AR12335.

Great stuff Mick.

I always found it easier to sketch spots by projection, just trace around the detail as it was projected on paper

Very nice Mick. Good attention to detail. Did you draw on yellow paper or add false colour later.

No I sketched it on hot pressed (300g/ms) white paper then added colour in PS.

I like it. I think sketching makes you really look at the subject and gives a sense of purpose to an observation. I'm always torn between imaging and observing. With sketching you can do both!
