How many moons have you seen or photographed

Recommended Posts

I was just looking through my observing notes to see if I have seen Triton the moon of Neptune when I stumbled on a note I made a long time ago detailing what moons I have seen, all of these in my 16" dob.

Mars:- No moons seen

Saturn: - Titan, Enceladus, Rhea, Dione, Mimas, Lapetus, Thethys, and Hyperion

Jupiter:- Europa, Io, Ganymede, and Calistro

Uranus:- Titania, and Oberon

Neptune:- Triton

So 15 moons in total.

How many have you guys seen.

You are doing well Martin!

i did see this post of Micks sooner, but don't have too much to contribute...

i have only seen the Galilean moons, + Titan, Tethys, Rhea and Dione. I think I got a glimpse Enceladus too. So that's 9, but

my bucket list is growing nicely!

I get so many ideas from this forum. What to look at...  what to spend my money on! :)

So much to do, so few chances to do it it seems...

cheers!

Titan, Jupiters 4 main ones, and Earths moon - so only 6 in total. :)

These 6 for me too. I've imaged a few more, nut that's cheating :)

I've seen 9: 4 of Saturn's 4 of Jupiter's plus one of ours. I've got some plans to catch Jupiter's on "film" and maybe Titan. I've got the DSLR to try it.

Yes, I am getting a lot of jovian moon shots on camera.
