Long Eaton Astronomical Society Meeting July 16th.

Recommended Posts

The next meeting of the Long Eaton Astronomical Society will be on Thursday 16th July at the usual time of 6:30pm.

Our subject for the evening will be “A Year in the Life of a Secondary School Astronomy Departmentâ€. Mr M Perkins and Miss N Ellender will take us through some of the many things our school astronomy department has been up to in the last school year. There will also be some detail on the ESA / JAXA “Earthcare†mission that hopes to launch in 2018.

If the weather allows there will be chance for some Solar observing at the start of the evening too. After the main talk there will be opportunity to pose questions in our “Astronomy Surgeryâ€.  All are welcome but as always under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Members free, visitors are welcome for a suggested donation of £2 towards refreshments which are available from 6:15pm.

The July meeting marks the start of our Summer break, as such the next meeting is on September 24th which is on the topic of Saturn and the Cassini mission.

Just a bump for this the last meeting until September. There will also be a fun hands on experiment to take part in on the night as a bit of something a bit different. Also I promise not to waffle on quite as much this month
