I was thinking black for base and white for the text :/ I would like some colour on the mount though, just to make it less boring.

Black's a colour!!!

 

Surly in the dark it doesn't matter as you cant see it anyway - :lol:

From the practicality point of view, bright colours that show up in the dark are an advantage. I repainted my observing chair with Wheel Silver paint and re-covered the seat in white vinyl cos I kept falling over it in the dark!
