I tried out the guiding last weekend with the QHY and finder scope, worked very well and actually surprised it did even after all the reviews and comments on the net saying that it works fine so pleased with that, i used the nebula as a target for the tracking and also tried the bahtinov mask for focusing, not much data, around 10x4 minutes lights, had the camera on 400 iso for some reason, could of sworn i had it on 800 but thats for next time, also very pleased with the mask..all in all...pleased with everything  :D

That's a good start for such a short run of subs, you must use at least 800 ISO to get some contrast out of the image. It's a long learning curve ( I know cos I'm on it too!) :) :)

Thanks guys, Ron to be honest i was only trying out the guiding and honestly thought it was on 800, mental note to myself....check the camera first :facepalm:

4 minute subs... and guiding is looking very good. Have you tried stretching the image in post processing? I suspect there is a lot more data there.

Nice image though and an interesting target.

Cheers Martyn, steve that image has been stretched, not a lot there bud with the low iso....now im guiding we should see better  :thumbsup:
