Purchased a pair of Opticron Imagic 10 x 50 binos a few weeks ago but as yet of not had much use due to the clouds. You will be amazed at what the binoculars can show you, you just need to find some really dark sky to get the best from your new binoculars. Have a look here and see if there's anywhere dark near you. http://www.lightpollutionmap.info/#zoom=10&lat=6944595.71974&lon=-108724.33523&layers=B0TFFFFTT You will be needing a Star Atlas to find your way round and one of the most practical and value for money is the Sky and Telescope pocket Star Atlas. It's not quite pocket sized, but it has a lot of information in it. Here's a useful bit of free software that might give you a few idea's on what to go hunting for.
