We would all want to be able to take photo's like them Neil, but unfortunately it takes great skill, patience, and great kit.

I really hope you succeed, I for one would be looking at them in awe.

Thanks for the kind reply's guys  , I am looking forward to seeing what happens to the images when I have  a dark sky , tripod and decent processing so all to play for!

Its a start I have taken better with my phone http://www.astrobin.com/users/tankedupnubee/  but now is the time to take it to the next level.

I have joined  https://www.flickr.com/photos/132180115@N05/albums/ but no idea how to add a picture to a flickr group , any ideas?

I a bit skint after Camera and other purchases but have procrastinated too long over which t adapter to go for, any thoughts on which one is best? nearly ready to pull the trigger on  http://www.amazon.co.uk/TS-Optics-adaptor-photography-telescope-TS1-EOS/dp/B00L3YH0X2/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1454713379&sr=8-14&keywords=t+ring+canon

I'm off to my nearest (by ten minutes)  dark site tomorrow shame its raining but I hear the tea and biscuits are really good! pics  http://www.lincsastro.co.uk/page6.htm

That's some image you've got there Neil!!

Thanks  Alan, I was pleased with the better than expected result.

I can't wait for a clear night to have a go on my 10" f4.2  telescope to see what results from say 40 lights 10 seconds each  and 1600 ISO.

I have no guiding and city sky so its just a bit of fun for now.

I noticed you shot 10 darks. I've been getting better results since shooting more darks and also shooting darks in the same session. Deep Sky Stacker definitely likes lots of darks.

The more darks and lights the better the noise  so I've  read 50 to 100 darks min!

I've got no proper tracking at home or the club so next time when i get the chance I  will try 5 seconds of ISO 400 x 50  light and dark  to see how that compares with my first shot keeping the trapezium nice and visable! May try a Barlow on that and have more luck focusing.
