February report

Recommended Posts

It was a short month, weather was not good on average, but you pulled in a lot of events there Philip ?

i liked how you showed the lead up to the final images and the shots of the moon with Jupiter were interesting.

i also like how you get it all out there, good results or bad! :)

The Sun seemed quiet this month.

Cheers!

Very nice pictures Phil. Your double cluster showing large cluster Stock 2 right next to it really stands out for me

Thanks, Pete and thanks for letting me know what the other cluster was. I think it deserves a close-up of its own at 300mm.

I love to look at Stock 2. It shows up very well in the 15x70s in a transparent sky, but dissappears completely into the murk on anything but the best nights. In the binoculars a lot of stars can be resolved in a nebulous background. My ST120 gives a superb view of it.

You also have Trumpler 2 and NGC 663 in the picture.

I too would like you to have another go at Stock 2 with a 300mm

Makes me think there's a lot I can do with a DSLR and zoom lens without splashing out 0 000s on gear. If I can, so can the rest of you.

Definitely Phil. You can do some great widefield shots with that setup.

But me? I'm just photographically challenged :D
