I was up at Belper for a quick session on Monday night and took the Dob and my new Fornax mount with me,

to have a go at setting up and (trying) to get it Polar aligned.

This was a 10 second single frame sub, 24mm F4, iso 2000 with my Sony A7.

WOW - the LP does not look that bad when I`m up there, remarkable what a 10 second sub pulls out.

:(

Nice capture of Orion though.

That is amazing for just 10 seconds Rob

I reckon you are down to 8th magnitude and showing clusters M41 and M47, NGC2264 and 2232 if you look closely.

Thankyou.

My polar alignement was so so i think.

I'm sure with practise it can be improved.

I need to get an illuminated reticule to go with the polarscope as i had a job seeing the Polaris circle at all. Thats probably down to my eyes a bit.....

It was a treat to be at Belper on Monday, even if i was Billy no mates

Had a really good session with the Dob / 31 Nagler once the camera was set up.

Also i must mention two of my more recent purchases that really have made a difference to my observing.

My Adjustable 'musicians stool' , and my Blazewear heated insoles. I'm so pleased with both of them
