Megrez 72FD & ES 14mm first light

Break in the cloud last night allowed me to grab & go with my new (To me) Williams optics Megrez 72FD and Explore Scientific 14mm 82 degree eyepiece.

Stuck the scope on my AZ4 mount and pointed at the Moon, wow!

The focuser is silky smooth and fine focus is a dream with th 10 to 1 reduction.

No sign of CA with detail crisp all the way to the edge.

Unfortunately I don't have a 2 inch diagonal so there was vignetting (Horrible yellowish tinge which I observed in daylight too).

Pointed the scope at Jupiter and could easily see the two equatorial belts and all 4 Moons.

Popped my Altair 3x ED barlow in an could easily see the GRS.

Very impressed with the little scope and eyepiece.

Been busy, still no 2 inch diagonal but i'm hooked on the Explore Scientific eyepieces, acquired the 8.8mm & 30mm versions.

Grabbed a bargain Televue Powermate 2.5x also....
