You have to admire the engineering with something like this.

Imagine how difficult it would be to produce a mirror like that :takeabow:

But then, with that focal ratio, and with a focal length of 1925mm? unless he's got eyes like an owl,

he'd be pushing it with anything over 13-15mm from an eyepiece point of view.

Even a 13mm Ethos would give 148x magnification. Thats not taking in to account a Paracorr, which adds to focal length.

Thats high power for me.

I wonder what eyepieces & accessories he / she uses ?

Is there a link to a review etc Pete ?

There was a 32" version of this scope at Kelling last autumn - only three pitches down from us. Liverpool astro soc brought it along but the daft numpties left the connecting ring for the top box at home tut! They did botch some kind of connection up but I never got chance to get near it at night time it was either being adjusted, or just too darned popular when working. :)

That was a 30" F3 Kim.

I think the 28" F2.75 is the shortest so far commercially made. Will try to find some more info when I get home.

Could be tricky to set up at Belper.......certainly if you're on your own !

Yay........!!!!!    1000 posts :strut:

Do we get anything for this milestone.....:drinks:

That's one heck of a scope, but can you imagine the view through it. Ah well we can but dream.

Well done on the 1K Rob, here's to many more.

That 40" gathers as much light as sixteen 10" scopes :)

You'd probably lose your dark adaptation looking at some of the brighter galaxies! :o

Maybe Graham would knock one out after he's finished that piddling small one he's doing now:)
