Could've been taken in the quarry just down the road, but knowing it is a comet several hundred thousand miles away is incredible.

Great picture!

The entire project has been a huge success with one astounding revelation after another!

The comet looks so dark! There is also evidence of a couple of impact craters in the shot...

 

And all those rocks must be very lightly sat on the comet, with it having such a low force of gravity...

?

Just looked it up in Stellarium.

 

67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko is now in Leo. About 5 degrees NE of Jupiter and 2 degrees SW of the Leo Triplet. It is 2.6 AU from earth and 3 AU from the sun.

 

You'd struggle to find it even with a camera at 18th magnitude.
