Taken a week ago (May 11) from a distance of only 9.9km I can hardly believe this is the surface of a comet we're looking at....! All those rocks and boulders just laying about everywhere What an amazing image. There is also evidence of a couple of impact craters in the shot... And all those rocks must be very lightly sat on the comet, with it having such a low force of gravity... ? Tweedledee Posted May 18, 2016 Share Posted May 18, 2016 (edited) Just looked it up in Stellarium. 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko is now in Leo. About 5 degrees NE of Jupiter and 2 degrees SW of the Leo Triplet. It is 2.6 AU from earth and 3 AU from the sun. You'd struggle to find it even with a camera at 18th magnitude.
