Maybe you could fit a thrust roller bearing to make it rotate better, they are very cheap on ebay.

I agree a thrust bearing would be an excellent addition.

Solid as a rock....replaced that pokey plastic L bracket that came with the binoculars...honestly Celestron would be better off leaving that out the box, the movement just from very slight breeze is unbelievable so homemade 3mm stainless bracket has done the trick, the difference is amazing, looking forward to some dark observing down south over the next week...thanks for the advice all, bearing conversion on my return..:thumbsup:

Awesome work Wayne. A parallelogram mount is something I would love to make but I just don't have the tools or skill unfortunately.
