That is stunning. :thumbsup:

 

It is centred on the centre of the galaxy, Sagittarius. North celestial pole is way off bottom right, South celestial pole is way off top left. The view is about 80 degrees horizontally and 50 degrees vertically.

Just right of the central bulge is M8 the Lagoon nebula then M20 the Trifid nebula then M24 the Sagittarius Star Cloud. Just left of the central bulge is M7 Ptolemys Cluster. The Scutum star cloud and tail of Aquila ia on the far right.

thanks for that :o  nice to know what i randomly pointed at with a dslr and a small travel tripod :lol:  did not think i would get anything useful :lol:
