Got this photograph of the recent Supermoon. The plane was not seen until after taking the image.

If  you look closely, the aberration to the left of the plane is heat turbulence - considering the distances involved, the kit ain't bad.

Neil ,

Daft question why bother going all the way to "near sleaford" when you are nearer to the EMS dark field site at Belper

Dam planes never there when you want one then loads appear from no where :laugh3:

SWMBO bought a static just outside Threekingham a year ago, so we go there frequently. It offers good a good clean dark sky from the veranda and has an elevated large mound that has 360 degree horizon to horizon viewing.

I have got permission from the site owner to star gaze (on a strictly limited basis) but due to a family problem this has had to be put on hold for the moment - I'm looking at March/April after the site re-opens to see what EMS interest there might be.

I'd like to use Belper at some point over winter but until I get used to my equipment and finished developing some bespoke accessories, I'm hanging fire going there at the moment.

Rgds,

Neil.
