Hi Ken. Looks like you've captured Venus, Deneb Algiedi and Nashera from Stephens sky map. Angles look about right. What lens / field of view?

Venus was well ahead of Mars on the ecliptic that date/time - and Neptune was following Mars. If your mystery object was Deneb it would be brighter, so I'm not sure what you got there. Depending on the orientation of your camera it could've been any of HIP107188, HIP107095, or IC1408 according to Stellarium. :)

i think that the relative brightnesses and positioning of the three objects correlates with Alans analysis for that time, also the image scale for a 300mm lens/DSLR looks about right.

Bear in mind also that in the screen shot image, dots of falling snow have been captured to confuse matters. Alan did highlight the three objects with a triangle though.
