Well what a wash out weather wise that month was. What with storm Doris and rubbish weather there hasn't been much opportunity for folks to get out there imaging. However some stalwarts have managed to bag a few pictures so here goes:

 

Deep Sky Objects

I cheated by taking advantage of Australian dark and clear skies using Siding Springs Observatory scopes with a couple of quick shots because I was getting stir crazy with no astro for a month.

My favourite for POTM February 2017 has to be Brady's Imbrium Basin

It's always difficult to get the right balance between shadow and high albedo areas on the moon, if you pick out stuff in the shadows this is usually at the expense of blowing out the brighter detail. This has been handled well in this image. Also it shows the benefits of taking lots of frames in a run.
