Skies cleared at Sidings Springs today now that Stargazing Live has gone home.

I thought after the mention on the second episode for the remote telescope access that it would be difficult to get on a telescope down there for the next month until people got bored and moved on but I managed to get on from my phone and take a quick 5 minute pic with the 430mm Planewave CDK scope & FLI camera.

 

I should have gone for 2 or 3 minutes I reckon as its blown out but it takes time to get used to what the scopes are good for and what the best exposures are for single shots. Still its nice to play with a 16" CDK

 

Im enjoying this nosing around at what the Aussies have got to look at daan under
