The skies were a little kinder to us in march as can be seen by more postings of pictures, lets hope the clouds keep away some more in April. So well done and thanks to all those who posted.

Deeps Sky

Ibbo gave us a nice close up of M42 with his Blackfly camera. Showing some nice detail.

Stash gave was making use of the galaxy season with a few including M96 and M101 and NGC2916. M101 is a firm favourite of mine and Clive captured it well.

Grahams IC405 shows loads of luvly Ha goodness in his picture of the Flaming Star Nebula

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12776-ic-405/

Talking of Ha Sheila gave us a nice Heart Nebula with the QSI683 camera, its looking good to me Sheila.

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12782-start-of-heart-nebula-ha-first/

Also the shot of the Makarian Chain is one to be proud of.

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12805-quick-process-in-the-field-of-markarian-data/

I am in admiration of AamenHammers image of the duo M81 and M82 here

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12799-m81-and-m82/ because that is good going for a Star Adventurer mount with a load on it such as the Sigma 150-600.

The colours in Wolfmans M81 are nice and subtle showing great detail.

I was out as well wrestling with my kit which I hadnt used for ages on M35 then playing with the scopes in Aus.

Comets Asteroids etc

We have one submission only this month from Stash with a shot of 41p Tuttle, well done Clive for bagging that one.

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12762-iss-lunar-transit-13-03-2017/

Graham was the first to give us a shot of Jupiter this month

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12756-rough-and-ready-jupiter/

Rons shot of the Moon and Jupiter is very atmospheric

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12772-moon-and-jupiter/

A nice capture of Jupiter from Bottlebury

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12810-jupiter-25317/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12819-jupiter-europa-and-io-from-sunday-night/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12778-sol-15-3-2017/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12766-sol-13-3-2017/

I only managed one lowly shot this month

Widefields

I was the only poster in this category with a couple of cloudy widefields

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12787-a-couple-of-wf-from-last-night/

The more posted images the better for EMS but it doesnt half make coming to a decision on what is the best of the batch. This month the two that grab me are Sheilas 15 hours of the Heart Nebula and Wolfmans great rendition of M81.

So because I have to choose one I reckon its Sheila and the Heart Nebula because of the stuff thats in there, the field of view and the amount of time thats been put into this picture. Great stuff Sheila.

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/12782-start-of-heart-nebula-ha-first/

It still amazes me that mounts these days can deliver shots like these unguided.
