full frame vs "normal" filters

Recommended Posts

I am looking at some Baader N/B filters and I have noticed that some are "full frame" and some don't mention "full frame". Now in ordinary photography,i think i am right, non "full frame" meant only the centre of the filter fully filtered where as the full frame meant that the filter worked on the same band all across the filter and was not graduated. Is that true and does it matter ( I thought it would ) in Astro picky thingy???

Any help would be,as always, gratefully received.

Note I am thinking longer term so although I would try them out using a DSLR later I would be using a "PROPER" CCD.:(

Are these clip in DSLR filters? If so FF means they are for FX full frame cameras as opposed to the more common APSC sized DSLR with the smaller chip.

No they are for use in my 1.25 filter wheel and are really for CCD camera - they are not for full frame cameras. I was just going to try them out using my DSLR until I had saved enough pennies in the piggy bank for the CCD camera I want.
