One came charging over the fence only last month chasing a sparrow, it swooped past me then banked left behind Di about three feet away from her back. He'd disappeared over the fence by the time she turned round. We saw another from the kitchen sitting on the fence for 12-15 mins tearing a dove to bits. I was on my way out of the Drakelow reserve in the van and the movement in this big puddle caught my eye. I stopped and he/she wasnt bothered because I was in the van so I snapped away through the open drivers side window, my own portable hide. I have been at that reserve many times and every time I see something I have never seen before from this fella to pairs of Kingfishers to lone giant terrapins.
