BBC2 9pm tonight...

Horizon - "Goodbye Cassini: Hello Saturn"

First showing tonight, not a repeat so it should be up to date. :)

I'll be tuning in thanks Pete, if i can stay awake. I've been up since 04:00

Thanks for the heads-up.

Was it an early shift or insomnia Rob?

I've only had 4 or 5 hours sleep so I'm struggling to keep watching it, but have it recording anyway.:)

Does anyone else find it refreshing to see so many highly intelligent and articulate female scientists (of any age) in these programmes? :)

What an incredibly successful spacecraft, after twenty years it was still working so well. The level of skill of the mission control staff and the scientists etc were very impressive. They understandably showed a level of grief and loss now the mission has finished, some of them have spent 20+ years on this project...! ?

Yes it was a great triumph in every respect and they still have years of data to work on. :)

I'll have to get this on catch up, I love anything to do with Cassini. It does seem to have quietened the Juno mission though, not heard much from that. Hopefully they can move centre stage now and show us some amazing Jupiter images.
