Iphone Clamp to dovetail for Polar Align

Bored this morning so in the workshop. Made a clamp for my iPhone to attach on the  EQ5 mount to use PS Align app. Works a treat!

Well you look on YouTube and all you see is people holding the phone against the mount, so why not make a proper fixture and easy to setup :)

should the camera not be viewing through the polarscope ?

No the screen you see is just tweaking in on Polaris. Bolt it in place and follow the promps  left, right, up down etc. Used it before by hand and works great, but never mounted rigid on the mount. Seems super accurate will see later when its dark.

 

App is called PS Align Pro £1.99 apps store and has a wealth of features

i have that but doesnt look like yours is it the one by astro.ecuador.net
