It must be bad if light pollution gets on the BBC news. Heard it on the radio 4 news this morning.

People don't seem to realise the far reaching detrimental effects of increasing light pollution on both humans and the natural world, never mind us astronomers.

Next someone will have the bright idea to launch some satellites with massive reflectors to give us nearly permanent day light 24/7. :(

It was even on the business news on BBC one at five this morning.

After failed mag minus 10 satellite beacons and planned man-made meteor showers, It woudn't surprise me if someone is rolling out a prototype to a launch pad as we speak!

And it's a double whammy cos of all the carbon pollutants produced by the power generation required to light the world up like a Xmas tree. Not good all round. :(
