People don't seem to realise the far reaching detrimental effects of increasing light pollution on both humans and the natural world, never mind us astronomers. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-42059551 Next someone will have the bright idea to launch some satellites with massive reflectors to give us nearly permanent day light 24/7. After failed mag minus 10 satellite beacons and planned man-made meteor showers, It woudn't surprise me if someone is rolling out a prototype to a launch pad as we speak!
