Masuyama eyepiece review

I'd not heard of these eyepieces before, yet they seem to be revered by those in the know.

Good review of them here, by eyepiece guru Bill Paolini.

Doc

The originals in the early eighties were the ones everyone thought were brilliant, these are the new ones, I doubt if they are made by the same company. The originals are very expensive and highly sort after. If you read the report they don't get a great report, in a few places Bill says the ES68° are better.

Yes, it goes to show what a good eyepiece the ES 24/68 is.

And at a little over £120 you can't really go wrong.

I think the Masuyama eps look quite nice and are a bit different from the outside, but they don't seem to be a popular one in the UK.

They do quite a range of focal lengths right up to this heavyweight.

Anyone with a long slow refractor might like these 3" 80mm Masuyama's, especially now they have been reduced from $2199.00 to just $1799.00 in Agena Astro's thanksgiving sale. What a bargain!!!!

They are a massive 213mm tall and 110mm wide! Don't think they'd work in the binoviewer Rob. :D
