Asteroid Phaethon

Recommended Posts

I had to have a go and look for this one, responsible for the Geminids meteor shower.  70-300 mm f5.6 zoom lens (Tamron). ISO 6400, roughly 3-4 seconds.   12th Dec at 02:25 hr UT, and two images on 16 Dec taken 19 minutes apart at 03:05 and 03:24 hr UT.

I'm still in awe that you can catch this with a 70-300 Tamron lens.

Well done Derek and another one to add to your list.

Thank you.  Maybe I should send these things to the makers of Tamron.

I bet there's not many asteroid hunters that use a Tamron 70-300 lens ;)
