Went to Warren Hills in Leicestershire today for my first trip of the season. These Green hairstreaks were newly emerged as they looked pristine. I would say there were 20 plus flying around but they hardly ever landed as they are sorting out territories at the moment. Photo's are Ok but I did miss focus on quite a few, I know I'm rusty as I haven't took photo's since August last year.

No Graham all outside in the fresh air. Warren Hills is a nature reserve, basically loads of bilbury bushes and gorse. Green hairstreaks emerge middle of April and fly to end of May.

Brilliant photo's Mick, were there many around??

We've had Small Tortoiseshells, a Peacock and some Brimstones already in the garden!

Cheers

I would say about 20 Ron. Pretty hard to see until you get your eye in and then you see them. Yeah we have had those in our garden as well, along with a small white.

Also got a three wheatears and a cuckoo.

You were covered in snow a few days back.
