Planetary

A few more planet images this month, great to see.

Several lovely shots of Jupiter and Saturn from Ibbo as he puts the C11 through its paces, my favourites being

A GRS progression https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14360-jupiter-7-5-2018-grs/

Saturn

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14443-saturn-22-5-2018/

Here's a planet we don't often see from this aspect, perkil8r s high altitude shot from his balloon project https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14440-earth-process-21052018/

Solar

we had a few sunny days this month with Ibbo and Graham giving us some images, a few of my favourites here

Ibbo

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14358-sol-7-5-2018-ha/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14377-sol-10-5-2018-ha/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14412-sol-15-5-2018-ha/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14488-sol-28-5-2018-ha/

Graham

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14422-solar-today-18052018/

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14474-solar-from-today-26052018/

Widefield

A few more widefield shots than normal this month, great stuff

A very atmospheric shot from Chris P https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14363-moon-rising-over-nordfjord/

IC1396 from 3472 https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14411-130518-ic-1396/

A nice Milky Way shot from Chris P https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14417-milky-way-over-the-peak-district-17th-may-2018/

And another Milky Way shot this time from 8472. https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14446-21-05-18-milky-way-over-ogsten-reservoir/

Well its not an easy one this month, (never is actually). There are 2 sets of images which stood out for me for various reasons, that's Derbyshire Daves galaxies and 8472s (Kev) Milky way over Ogsten Reservoir.

And after a lot of deliberation I am going to give Derbyshire Daves M81 the POTM May 2018 title

https://www.eastmidlandsstargazers.org.uk/topic/14372-m81-from-holloway/

Why? Colour, detail and sympathetic  processing.

Guy,

Thank you for all of the kind comments, very much appreciated. For the record I’d just like to re-iterate how much I love Kev’s Mily Way shot...
