Thanks folks.

No step ladder needed Mick, one of the benefits of using a camera. ?

I am thinking of putting a raised walkway around the inside of the new obs just in case I fancy using an EP.

The Obs is also going to double up as my new workshop.

The raised platform will also give me plenty of storage space underneath it.

Heavens knows I need it with all my stuff.

That is impressive Graham. Yeah, that needs an eyepiece, a look at Jupiter and Saturn would be amazing.

Collected the newly coated mirror this morning.

Learnt something new along the way as well.

Had a chat with the main man down at Galvoptics and he advised me not to even open the carefully wrapped and sealed mirror for six weeks.

Leaving it wrapped and sealed will give the coatings time to cure properly.

Apparently the longer you leave it before you expose the new surface to the air the better it is.

Even the moisture and acids in your breath can damage a newly coated mirror.

So there you go you learn something new every day in this hobby.

Don't actually know if I will be able to wait that long but I will try.?

Well, it's about time you had a couple of days rest after shifting all that heavy metal and concrete.  ?
