I'm over in Leicester in the day anyway and will pack the car up night before so no doubt I'll be there, but Clearoutside is predicting 100% cloud and the met have put out a weather warning for rain and thunderstorms. Guess, as ever, we'll see what the cloud gods bring.

If i make it, can I throw my hat into the collimation-checking mix, please?

Just had my primary out to clean, and would like to see if everything is where it should be again. A quick check with my Cheshire says all is ok, but a second opinion would be great.

Cheers,

Kev

Not looking good for Friday cloud/thunderstorm forecast :(  If it stays the same will dodge the clouds at home.

Think I'll wait till about 7 pm and decide then, it forecast thunderstorms last night and all we got was one clap of thunder and and hour or so of rain!!

Cheers

looks like it's going to pour down here in Beeston, gone really dark with 100% cloud so I'm pulling out, sorry folks but a beer has my name on it.

Pondering about coming, but think I won't.  Sorry if I don't turn up.  100% clouds here.

I did intend coming, but didn't post purposely just in case. Then the thunderstorms hit, so I decided to have a beer in the rain. It was refreshing! Hope someone somewhere saw the eclipse.

Disappointed not to see anything 😫

I hate it when eclipses are clouded out.

Chaps : may i suggest we reconvene in just under 6 months time ?

The night of Sunday 20 January 2019

The bad news.......it doesn't start till 03:30 Monday morning.....😮

Hyperthermia may have set in by then if it is clear !

It will either be a very long, late session......or a very early session ! 😀

Yep, nowt but clouds, showers and a couple of distant fireworks to be seen, sadly.

Tea and a chat was worth the trek, though.

Cheers again for the collimation, Rob - a great bit of kit you have there. Surprising to see how far out my earlier effort was.

That's the way it goes, I had a look and it was wall to wall cloud. Like Rob says, we'll have a bash in six months, last time it was a school night and I was it in me dressing gown and slippers, not be long I said, damn near got hypothermia. 😀
